Why is it when certain girls
Get to a certain grade
They have to pick ugly ( I mean certain) clothes
Now I try to be a "hip" mom but where do you draw the line? I hate to tell her "NO! Alyson that is ugly" but what is a mom to do? Alyson has her eye on the UGLIEST Hannah Montana outfit. I got out of buying it last week but she thinks we are going back to get it.
Whatever happen to this girl

You just have to let go. I know it's hard, but I had to do that with Tyson awhile ago. Kids know what they like...I figure it's easier just to let them express themselves...Unless we are having pictures done or going to the dr or somewhere in real public... (By that I mean somewhere other than Alamo!)If that's the case, I still get to choose!
I hear ya!!! I took Chipper school clothes shopping today, and I couldn't believe some of the things he picked out. argh, where did our babies go?
My mom would always make other suggestions. In this situation she would maybe say.... " I think a lot of other girls might be buying the same outfit. Do you want to be wearing the same thing as a lot of other girls?" If she doesn't care then I guess you're out of luck. Also my mom would only buy a few new things before before school started. She would do this because after going to school we would see other styles that girls were wearing and want other clothes. I think it was a good idea. We would shop around Labor Day. There are also big sales that weekend. Just some thoughts.
Ok, so my dear little Brooklyn is also starting the 4th grade but it's only now that she will START letting me buy the cute stuff. What I did with her is wave the appeal of "you can now shop in some of the same stores as mom". It makes her feel Oh So Mature (or so she thinks). Hollister and Aeropostale have XS shirts that she can fit into. They are a little long but they are super cute. But she still likes those ugly goucho (or whatever they're called) pants. But at least this year she'll wear jeans without telling me they make her butt cheeks touch, so I'll take what I can get.
LOL!! This is funny! A part of me feels for Alyson because I remember going shopping with my mom and not being able to convince her that something was WAY cute!! But, I must agree with you! I can't count how many times I have tried to convince my BOYS that they do not WANT the flashing spider-man shoes. The thing is, she will look way cool to HER friends that were begging their mom for the exact same outfit!!
I am not looking forward to the days when Jaidyn starts picking out her own clothes. I can only imagine what she will pick out.lol
Oh boy do I hear you. I took Ashlee shopping on Thursday...it was the first time I wanted to scream and run away! Letting go of the control over clothes is VERY difficult. I need ice cream.
Let me just tell you....IT GETS WORSE!!! hehe. Aren't girls so much fun? They will keep you on your toes thats for sure!!!
